SCORES of people descended on the latest Daily Echo Jobsfair yesterday in search of work.

The event saw companies from a wide range of industries looking for new blood to fill positions, while those looking for work or a change of career were able to make their case.

The day was sponsored once again by Bournemouth-based health insurer Health-on-Line and it also took place during Careers Week.

Lorna Frohlich, from the firm, said: “It’s gone really well, we’ve had a good response. We have got lots of different roles available in our company as we’re expanding so much in all areas.”

Several firms were exhibiting at the fair for the first time, including Protectline Insurance.

Sheli Barton, from the company, said: “It’s been very busy; we’ve had a good range of people come to the stall.”

Also new was Lab Impex Systems.

The firm’s Julie Palmer said: “It’s been going very well. There are lots of people here.

“From the off it has been really busy. It’s quite varied in the types of enquiries we’re getting.

“We will definitely do it again.”

Software security providers Eset UK were also at the fair for the first time.

Quinton Watts, VP of sales and marketing, said: “There have been some interesting people. We have seen several that we would be interested to interview for the roles that we have got and there’s lots of enthusiasm, which is great.”

Daily Echo classifieds manager Angela Boyer said: “We’re delighted that people were queuing at the door.

“We have got a wide range of people from all walks of life looking for a huge variety of jobs and it’s great to see that there are some new local employers that are supporting the event.

“It’s looking like one of our most successful events ever.”
