AN AUSTRIAN runner will “donate her legs” to the YMCA by running the London Marathon in their honour.

Dedicated YMCA fundraiser Sheena Dayman is unable to run the marathon herself but has done the next best thing – by finding someone who will do it for her.

It means she will be able to put her feet up and relax while Sandy Schmied tackles the gruelling 26-mile course in a bid to raise £8,000 for the YMCA.

Sheena said: “I run all over East Dorset raising money and awareness of the YMCA and, though I would have loved to have tackled the marathon, I think my legs probably need a rest.

“I’m delighted that Sandy’s going to do it for us. She’s extremely committed to the YMCA and the money will make a huge difference to our work in supporting young people.”
