Woman punched in face in road-rage assault (From Bournemouth Echo)

“She has been described as white, aged in her late forties and of large build. She has dark hair, a pierced lip and tattoos on both arms.........You don't see many of those around here doo yoo!

Few things this story seems to miss,what caused the attacker to get out of the car and if nothing HAD happened why did the 'victim' get out of her car? Was it to confront them?

so easy to drive without this happening if you realize drivers will cut you up etc etc , just forget it and let them steam on down the road to their own oblivion

Yes if someone wants to drive like a maniac let them pass and get on with it. Just don't do it near my car! I'm quite happy to honk to let someone know I'm there, perhaps in their blind spot, but I wouldn't let someone cut me up (such as going from Bmth Hospital to the Cooper Dean roundabout for example, that's always a mission as I get in the correct lane straightaway and have to brake to let other drivers in to swap lanes) or push me off the road without reacting. I have a small child in the car usually so I'm reacting for her sake more than mine. There are too many stupid, careless drivers out there.

Easier said than done when someone has just endangered your life with their recklessness. It's not just bad manners, it's dangerous.

Obviously none of what is ALLEGED to have happened can be reported because the police are investigating.

so much for the gentler sex- i'm 100 per cent for equal rights but it seems that some women have taken the worst characteristics normally associated with men- rudeness, aggression, violence , arrogance- and this is especially true out on the road sadly.

The one thing that can help the police apprehend these idiots is if you make a note of the car registration number if you get the chance.

I appreciate this maybe difficult circumstances to think straight when assaulted, but it is the one thing that will lead the police straight to them.

I have a notepad and pen in my glove box for general use anyway and it does not take up much room, maybe others should consider this idea.

I do wonder though why you would get out of the car to confront the driver of the VW Golf? Was there two aggressors here maybe? We do only have one side of the story in this report.

The easy answer to all this so called road rage is to have a camera installed in your car connected to a hard drive, these things are brilliant for evidence gathering and also lowers your insurance premium.

thats the problem people dont use merging lanes properly. Sit up the back of the car in front determined not to let others in. I am amazed how keen people are to get to work, i am happy to see so many people are really enjoying their jobs!!!

I work in the insurance industry, for my sins, and don't know of any insurer that gives any discounts for having a camera fitted in your vehicle. I do know there was talk of it at one time but I'm pretty sure nothing came of it.

FAR too many ignorant drivers who think they can just go around bullying their way into traffic/cutting people up. I'll give way when it's appropriate, but I won't give way to bullies....

Well, I don't see how... What is this unit of which you speak? Surely, it doesn't provide all round coverage of your car... If it doesn't, then how can it 'provide evidence' of anything unless it just gets lucky. It might provide evidence that there has been a colision, sure, but as to whose fault it was is a whole different matter, I would think. Preventing a stand-off... I think that's exactly what the insurance companies want to happen...
