With the Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza and New Year all a distant memory, I still cannot help but think about New Year’s Resolutions. Most days I get a text from my fire fro’d friend, Trish, complaining about how annoying her cleaner is, or something similar… My reply?

“Do something about it then”.

Don’t complain unless you have a solution.

You don’t have one?

Have no fear, Amber is here – This year, I’m going to provide EVERYONE with a solution. There are SO many people who sit and procrastinate about their life, about their aims, goals and dreams. They talk, talk, and talk, but the most annoying thing is they NEVER do anything to start achieving.

This really annoys me – I completely understand that everyone is entitled to live their lives as they wish, but I really don’t want to listen to empty words.

“I want to do…” – WELL DO IT THEN, YOU IS THE MASTER TO YOUR OWN DESTINY (Yes, I know my grammar is incorrect, but it’s colloquial slang folk, u gemme?) – I want to see people set out for what they’re after and actually do something to make me proud, which is why I’m forcing people to have their New Year’s Resolution as ‘Believe and achieve’.

I know times are dark and hard ever since that mournful July day in 2011 that saw the final Harry Potter film be released, but we all must keep strong and fight for what we want. A phrase that is thrown around a lot lately is ‘YOLO’ (You Only Live Once). This phrase is terribly true, so do something about it.

Spend your time wisely and do something to make yourself and your parentals, friends and family proud. Leave yourself a legacy, so people can be like… “I want to be as AMAZING as [xyz]”.

Another reason that got the cogs going for this blog was when earlier this fruitful day someone said to me “If you make it one day…” – I looked at that person in disgust.

“If?!... It’s not a matter of ‘if’; it’s a matter of ‘when’”.

I will make it. When? I’m not too sure. I know I will achieve it because I believe in myself so much more than those who believe the “Twilight Saga” is “good” (It’s totally not).

I hope everyone had a happy Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanza and a very Happy New Year.

Please do not drink and drive, behave sensibly and do not do anything Amber Lovell would not.

Remember, it’s not ‘New year, new you’... It’s ‘New Year, BETTER you.”
