BRITISH Transport Police have re-released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to after a woman was touched indecently on a train.

The incident happened around 11.30am on Wednesday October 3 2012 when the victim, a 23-year-old woman from Southampton, was travelling on a train between Southampton Central and Totton.

PC Mark Stook, investigating officer, said: “As the train approached Totton, a man sat behind the victim stood up and touched her in an indecent manner before leaving the train.”

Police have conducted several lines of enquiry into the incident and have released images of a man they believe has key information about the incident.

Since their last appeal, officers have obtained an image of a distinctive backpack the man was thought to be wearing.

PC Stook added: “The incident understandably left the victim feeling shocked and shaken, and I would encourage anyone who saw the man at the time, or knows who he is, to get in touch.”
