TWO illegal immigrants accused of raping a stranger at a Bournemouth shop have claimed she consented to sex with both of them.

Farid Ghorzanig told jurors: “I asked her if she was enjoying it and she said ‘of course.’ “Afterwards I said ‘do you want my friend?’ She said ‘I don’t mind.’ I went downstairs and told him she wanted him as well.”

Ghorzanig, a 22-year-old immigrant from Afghanistan, and Amir Wallezadeh, 19, are alleged to have raped a 23-year-old woman in shop premises in Commercial Road on July 1 this year.

A jury of nine men and three women has been told the defendants had keys to the former Dixons electrical store and were sleeping there.

They were attempting to unlock the front door at about 9.30pm when the alleged victim passed by “somewhat the worse for drink” said prosecutor David Bartlett.

Bournemouth Crown Court has been told Ghorzanig escorted the woman to a door at the rear of the building just three and a half minutes after first meeting her. Less than 20 minutes later she alerted police from Bournemouth Square and claimed she had been raped.

Giving evidence on the fourth day of the trial, Ghorzanig said: “She came over and started talking to me, then we were hugging and kissing. “I told her I was going into the shop. She said she wanted to go in with me.”

The jury was told Wallezadeh let them in the back door of the shop and that they went upstairs where there was a mattress and a rug.

Ghorzanig denied suggestions from Mr Bartlett that he and Wallezadeh discussed having sex in their native language and that the alleged victim knew nothing of their plans. He also denied claims that the woman had repeatedly stated that she wanted to go home and that she had tears in her eyes.

Wallezadeh said if he thought Ghorzanig was going to rape her he would have “beaten him up”

He said he went upstairs and had consensual sex after kissing the woman and said any suggestions they were both planning to have sex without her consent were “completely untrue”.

Wallezadeh said she gave Ghorzanig her phone number before leaving and “she appeared happy”.

The trial continues.
