An outraged driver threw a stone at the windscreen of a fellow motorist in a roadrage incident in Poole.

A 40-year-old woman from Poole, driving a silver MG car towards the Hungerhill roundabout, was forced to stop suddenly after merging with traffic.

This caused the vehicle behind her, a bright orange or red Vauxhall Corsa driven by an unknown man, to brake hard and come to an abrupt stop.

The driver of the Corsa was seen to throw a stone like object which cracked the windscreen of the MG and then shout a torrent of offensive remarks at the victim.

The offending driver then turned off and headed towards Dear Hay Lane.

The incident happened at around 1.15pm on Friday 7 December 2012 near the Towngate Flyover.

Police Constable Phil Prentice, of Poole police, said: “This incident has caused the victim a lot of distress, and she has been left shocked by what has happened.

“She has also suffered damage to her vehicle which is likely to cost her money.
