A MAN was robbed at gunpoint outside Brockenhurst Railway Station this morning.

The gunman told the victim to get back in his car, a grey Porsche 911 Carrera, and drive him to the HSBC bank in Brockenhurst, where he forced him to withdraw some cash from an ATM.

He then made the man drive to a car park on Rhinefield Road and told him to get out of the car.

It is believed this was sometime between 7 and 7.15am. The robber drove off and later abandoned the car in Sway Road, Brockenhurst, on a track near to the railway bridge.

Officers are now trying to trace anyone who saw any of the incident, which began on the southern side car park at Brockenhurst Station at 6.30am.

Police say there would have been quite a few people using the station at that time and officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen what happened or anyone suspicious in the area around the time of the incident.

Police are also keen to trace any witnesses who may have seen the car or the people involved, in the forest.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Operation Limestone team at Lyndhurst CID on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Police said they are expected to be at the station most of the day investigating the crime and will be speaking to commuters this evening as they return home and will be there tomorrow morning as well to speak to potential witnesses.
