A NIGHTCLUB doorman was seriously injured in an assault in Christchurch.
The incident happened after a group of men were asked to leave Club Epic in Bargates at around 3.45am on Sunday, November 25.
While they were being shown out, a disturbance broke out and spilled into the street.
The doorman, who comes from Poole, was punched and bitten, suffering a serious injury to his ear which later required an operation at Salisbury Hospital.
Detective Constable Scott Brimicombe, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: “This was a particularly nasty attack on a man which has left him with a serious injury.
“I now have available a CCTV image of a man who I believe can help us with our investigation.
“I urge him to come forward and speak to us as I am keen to establish exactly what happened.
“We believe the man responsible left the scene in a taxi.
“During the incident the offender was sprayed with red criminal identifier paint by the victim, which would have proved very difficult to remove from skin and clothing for a number of days.
“Witnesses and anyone with any information, or anyone who recognises this man pictured should phone Dorset Police on 101 in strict confidence.”
