For technical reasons, we're switching to a new live story (many apologies). You can see it here. Tnanks.
10:13am
Lots of people are asking us why Goodwin was let out of prison. To clarify, he was given a 10-year-sentence in 2000.
At the time of his sentence Judge Samuel Wiggs gave him a longer sentence than was standard for the offences he had committed - indecent assaults on a 63-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl - for the protection of the public.
However, he has served all of that ten years - at which stage there is no option other than to release him.
We are expecting a statement this morning regarding the multi-agency public protection arrangements that were in place.
9:56am
One update we can bring you: Goodwin apparently broke into the Wallisdown Liberal Club on Sunday evening while it was closed, drank half a pint of lager and ate some biscuits, then went away again. CCTV shows he didn't steal anything.
9:54am
We are still waiting to hear from the police. Bear with us!
8:46am
Here are all our stories from today's paper:
8:29am
Good morning. A brief overnight update.
Police are still searching for Dean Goodwin. We know the police helicopter was out last night and we're waiting to speak to DI MArcus Hester to get a proper update on what's happening this morning, so bear with us.
10:02pm
The search is continuing late into Monday evening.
A reminder that anyone who sees Goodwin should call police and not approach him.
We will bring you the latest updates from early on Tuesday morning.
4:50pm
Goodwin is known to have family and friends in the Bournemouth and Poole areas and police have warned that anyone found to be assisting him will be arrested.
4:49pm
Here's what DI Marcus Hester had to say when we spoke to him:
“We need to have Mr Goodwin in custody as soon as is possible both for his safety and benefit and for the safety and benefit of the public.
“There is every reason to suspect that he may well offend again just for him to survive because we do not believe he has very much money with him.”
“He was previously in prison for a serious sexual assault, an incident that occurred back in 2000.
“The public should be aware of him we need them to assist us in locating him.
“They certainly should not approach him. They should call the police straight away but continue with their daily business.
“He is considered to be of concern. The fact this serious offence has taken place shows that he can be dangerous.
“It's very urgent we locate him as soon as we possibly can.”
4:48pm
An update as it starts to get dark. Police are still searching for Goodwin. They are advising the public to be cautious. Don't approach him if you see him but call one of these numbers.
2:28pm
Here's the second of our videos from the police briefing this morning. This one is with Marcus Hester.
2:02pm
DSI Mark Cooper calls for Dean Goodwin to hand himself in.
1:21pm
Andy Martin has just filed this from his briefing with DI Marcus Hester this morning:
THE man wanted in a connection with a brutal rape last week has been urged to give himself up.
Dean Goodwin has been on the run since last Friday and police have launched a huge manhunt for him in Poole and Bournemouth.
The 32-year-old is a convicted sex offender and served 12 years for sex offences before being released last year.
Detective Superintendent Mark Cooper, the head of Dorset's Major Crime Team said: “Dean, I urge you to hand yourself in, for your own safety and
the sake of your family. They are very worried about.”
The police are concentrating their search in the local areas, where Goodwin is from and still has family.
Around 40 dedicated detectives are involved and an unspecified number of uniformed officers, some from the firearms unit.
Detective Supt Cooper added: “Every single police officer in the force has been briefed. I have full resources of the organisation at my disposal.”
He said: “My message to the public is to be cautious, not to approach him but to dial 999 or the two numbers that have been publicised though the
Daily Echo.”
He said Goodwin was wanted is a suspect in a “very violent offence.”
And he urged Goodwin to hand himself into the nearest police station immediately.

A lot of people are asking for more information about the attack itself and where and when it happened.
Although we do have more information, we have chosen not to publish it because of the risk of identifying the victim.

Unfortunately, although we do have more information, we have chosen not to publish it because of the risk of identifying the victim.
12:31pm
We will have video of the briefing with Marcus Hester and Mark Cooper very shortly.
12:30pm
There are 40 detectives working on the case, we're told.
12:28pm
Detective Inspector Marcus Hester also told us the offence committed last week was a particularly nasty attack and that Dean Goodwin’s history as a sex offender was a matter of public record.
12:05pm
Detective Superintendant Cooper added: “The public should be cautious but not alarmed and not stop going around their normal daily business.”
12:05pm
Detective Inspector Marcus Hester said: “The full resources of Dorset Police are at our disposal in the hunt for Dean Goodwin. Every single officer in Dorset Police has been briefed on this.”
12:03pm
Andy Martin has just met with officers leading the hunt for Dean Goodwin.
Detective Superintendant Mark Cooper said he wanted to use the Daily Echo to appeal to Dean Goodwin:.
He said:“Dean you need to hand yourself in for your own sake and the sake of your family.
“Your family is worried about you.”
11:34am
Police say they are continuing to follow positive lines of enquiry in the search for Dean Goodwin.
Detective Inspector Marcus Hester said: “I would like to appeal directly to Dean to make contact with the authorities as soon as possible.
“I would also like to make it clear that anyone found to be helping, harbouring, or in any way aiding Dean Goodwin will be arrested.”
11:18am
We believe the police are mainly concentrating on the Sea View and Newtown areas - if you know of anywhere else they are searching do let us know.
11:03am
@Bournemouthecho has #goodwin been caught? People are saying he has, I haven't seen anything official yet?

You can read our full story from today's paper here.
10:56am
Goodwin is described as white, five feet ten inches and of a stocky muscular build.
He has very short hair to the extent that he may appear bald.
He was last seen wearing black jeans, a green top, brown boots and a black jacket, although he may have discarded this clothing.
10:56am
Our news editor Andy Martin has gone for a briefing with the Detective Chief Inspector Marcus Hester about the manhunt. Hopefully we'll have video for you soon.
10:53am
Goodwin was given a ten-year sentence in July 2000 for two indecent assaults: one on a 63-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl. He'd already had 31 convictions and had been released early from a young offenders institute. He'd only been out for two months when he carried out the attacks.
At the time Judge Samuel Wiggs told him that the usual sentence for each offence (three years) would not be enough to protect the public.

I've heard from a few people this morning saying they have changed their plans to go out until Dean Goodwin is caught.
Many say they won't go out by themselves until they know he is in custody.
10:43am
What we can tell you about Dean Goodwin is that this isn't the first time he's been on the run. In 2009 we did this story based on a police appeal to find him after he disappeared from the hostel where he was staying,
10:42am
It's Katie Clark here. I've just been speaking to the victim's father.
He is urging anyone with information about Dean Goodwin's whereabouts to contact the police immediately.
He said: "He is obviously dangerous and needs to be caught or give himself up as soon as possible.
"Don't help him hide."
10:37am
A lot of people have been asking about how safe it is for women to go out by themselves. We've asked the police for their advice and we should have a public reassurance message for you very soon.
@Bournemouthecho Is it safe for women to go out on their own?
