Police in Bournemouth investigating an assault outside a nightclub in the town have released a picture of a man that they would like to speak with.

The incident happened sometime between 1.40am and 1.55am on Sunday 11 November 2012 at the back of V Bar, St. Andrews Church on Exeter Road.

The victim, a 26-year-old man from Berkshire, was punched in the face by an unknown man causing a cut and swelling to his right eye.

Police Constable Jonathan Oaten, of Bournemouth police, said: “This was a callous attack which has left a man with a nasty injury, and following further enquiries, I am now able to release a CCTV image.

“This assault happened outside a busy nightclub, so I am keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious.

“In particular I would like to speak to the man in the picture who I believe can help us with our investigation.

“I urge anyone who has any information to call Dorset Police urgently on 101 in strict confidence.”
