A SEVERE weather warning has gone out for Dorset with high winds and flooding expected until 9pm this evening.
The Met Office issued the warning and police and firefighters are advising people to take extra care when driving.
A police spokesman said water would continue to rise in the Redhill area of Bournemouth.
He warned motorists should not attempt to drive through standing or flowing water if they are not sure how deep it is.
He said: “If it is possible to get home before the worst of the weather, do so, or wait until it has passed before attempting longer routes.”
