Parent Julie Young’s son started at the school in September. She said: “He has cerebral palsy so to get him into mainstream school was fantastic. He has made so much progress and he loves it here – he can’t wait to get to school every day.”

Victoria Ryall has one child at the school and one who has just left. She said: “It is a fantastic school. We are an Army family but we have settled here and bought a home near Wool, because of this school. When my elder son left here I was in tears.”

Year 2 teacher Sharon Reddyhoff has been at the school for six years and is Key Stage 1 co-ordinator and PE co-ordinator. She said: “Everybody is incredibly hard working and supportive and the children are absolutely delightful.”

Melanie Glynn is a newly-qualified teacher who joined the school in September. She said: “It is a very warm and welcoming place. The school has a sense of community and you can get to know people. The staff are supportive.”

Year 5 pupil Paul Nelson, nine, said: “I have been here since Year 2 and I like walking round and seeing all the smiles and people playing happily together. I play football and my favourite subject is maths.”

Lucy Roberts, nine, said: “I have been here since the start and I like it because all the teachers are really nice to the students and everybody is happy. I like playing games and I like maths. I also go to football and tag rugby club.”
