THE countdown to Christmas will be marked with a host of fun-filled festive events in Boscombe and Pokesdown.
The festivities will start with a Christmas carnival in Boscombe this Sunday, between 11am and 6pm.
There will be a carnival treasure hunt in the Sovereign Centre and a fancy dress competition, before the parade makes its way from Kings Park lorry park to the precinct, arriving at around 3.15pm.
Music will be provided by the Bournemouth Male Voice Choir and Rockatune community choir and the lights will be switched on by Dame Kitty at 4.15pm.
Pokesdown’s Christmas light switch on will be on Thursday, November 22 at 7pm.
Entertainment on Pokesdown Green will include carol singing and a visit from Father Christ-mas.
Boscombe’s Sov-ereign Centre will also be hosting family fun days every Saturday during December.
There will be free face painting, music and children’s entertainment taking place between 10am and 4pm.
And on Saturday, December 1, there will be evening entertainment at Boscombe beach and a free firework show from the end of Boscombe Pier to round off proceedings.
