TWO of the world's biggest classical crossover stars are set to unite at the BIC next year on April 7.

The quartet, Il Divo and mezza soprano Katherine Jenkins will perform together as part of their co-headline tour.

Tickets will go on sale this Friday. With over 30 million album sales between them, both Il Divo and Katherine have experienced stratospheric rises since their recording debuts in 2004.

Whilst they have crossed paths at various musical events and TV shows, they have never actually taken to the public stage together. This tour will see both artists perform with a full orchestra, their own unique classical interpretations of popular songs, whilst also dueting together for the very first time.

Il Divo is gearing up for the release of their Greatest Hits album, and Katherine Jenkins her first ever festive collection of Christmas songs This is Christmas, both released on November 26.

Sebastien Izambard from Il Divo told the Daily Echo: “We’ve long been friends with Katherine, and as we looked to stage a tour around our Greatest Hits release, we thought what better way to approach it than to offer our fans the ultimate evening of classical crossover music by inviting Katherine to perform and also join us on some brand new duets. We hope we can make some wonderful music together.”

Katherine Jenkins added: "Having known the boys for such a long a time it’s great to finally be working on such an exciting project together."
