Detectives in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward following an attempted robbery at a shop in the centre of the town.
The incident happened at around 7am on Monday 29 October 2012 at Premier Stores on High Street.
A man entered the shop and threatened a member of staff before demanding money from the till.
The offender left empty handed after an altercation with the shopkeeper outside the store.
Detective Constable Sara Butler, of Poole and Bournemouth CID, said: “I am appealing for witnesses and anyone with information about this incident to contact Dorset Police urgently.
“Nobody was injured and no money was stolen during this attempted robbery.
“The offender was a white man believed to be aged in his thirties, around five-foot 10-inches tall, and wearing a cream coloured anorak, dark trousers and white trainers.
“He walked with a slight limp, and pretended to purchase items at the counter before making his demands for cash.
“Having left the shop, the suspect walked off via Carters Lane.
“He was also sighted prior to the incident at around 6.50am in the Chapel Lane area.
“Anyone with information is urged to call Dorset Police on 101.”
