THERE was something on the menu for everyone at the Wimborne Food Festival this Saturday and Sunday.

Thousands turned out across the weekend despite gloomy weather on Sunday, and traders from around the county enjoyed huge success.

From paella to barbecue and fish and chips, foodies were delighted by the range of delicious treats on offer.

Kamlesh Adams, who runs Kamlesh's Cosy Kitchen, said it had been a wonderful year for the festival.

“It has been really brilliant - we've enjoyed it,” she said.

“We were last here about four or five years ago, and it's changed a lot since then. It's really impressive, and it's been so busy.”

The festival supported Diverse Abilities Plus, and fund raising manager Helen Mortimer said it had been a wonderful boost for the charity.

“It's been such a good weekend,” she said.

“I can't believe how busy it has been. At lunchtime, there were so many people here you could barely walk around.”

Ms Mortimer said the charity had received huge levels of support from the community.

“We don't know how much we've raised yet, but it's certainly hundreds of pounds,” she said.

“It's amazing. Best of all, it really raises awareness of what we do.”

On Saturday, visitors said they believed the festival was even bigger than the previous year, which attracted 15,000 hungry people.

Jennifer Jones, 28, visited with three-year-old son Harvey.

She said: “We've really enjoyed ourselves.

“This is our first time here but it's been a really enjoyable day.

We'd definitely come back next year. It seems like a real family occasion.”
