Coastguard rescue teams helped a male runner who had fallen over on the coastal path near Worth Matravers on Thursday evening.
The runner, who had broken his arm, was taken by helicopter to Baiter, Poole, where he was then transferred to a waiting ambulance and taken to Poole Hospital.
The incident took place at 7.30pm.
