PUPILS at a New Forest school are mourning the death of one of their teachers.
Peter Joyce, who ran hair and beauty classes at The Arnewood School in New Milton, was 50.
Head teacher Nigel Pressnell said: “We are all incredibly saddened at the news of the sudden passing of Peter Joyce, a wonderful colleague and teacher.
“Peter joined the school in 2010 and was instrumental in establishing our innovative vocational curriculum.
“He will be remembered with great affection by the many students he taught, predominantly in hairdressing and childcare where he was also the school’s internal verifier.
“Peter was an extremely dedicated teacher with a strong empathy for the children in his groups.
“Our thoughts for are very much with Peter’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
Students are being supported by staff and trained counsellors and school staff are being offered the same support.
Mr Joyce leaves a father and a sister.
