M PEOPLE will stop off at the BIC on their 20th Anniversary Greatest Hits tour.

Yes it’s been that long since Heather Small and co hit the big time with their second album Elegant Slumming, which included the hits One Night in Heaven and Moving on Up.

And they will have Lighthouse Family frontman Tunde as their special guest throughout the tour, which kicks off in October with the BIC show happening on Saturday, October 12.

This will be M People’s first full tour in eight years following their Ultimate Collection arena dates in 2005 and sees Heather Small, Paul Heard and Shovell take on 14 dates across the country.

M People emerged out of the club scene in Manchester in the early nineties and became one of the world’s biggest dance acts, selling more than 11 million records.

With Heather Small’s unmistakable voice M People released 20 Top 40 singles, including Search For The Hero.

M People’s first album was Northern Soul in 1992 and in 1993 they won a Brit Award and the prestigious Mercury Music Prize with Elegant Slumming. They went on to play the main stage at Glastonbury Festival.

Heather Small said: “I’m really looking forward to getting back on the road with the guys again.

“It’s been eight years since we last toured together and we always have such fun, you can expect a big party on that stage.”
