FREQUENTLY dubbed Britain's rudest comic, Roy 'Chubby' Brown will be bringing his own special brand of humour to the Pier Theatre next month. If you thought comedian Frankie Boyle was offensive, well Roy has been turning the air blue for over 40 years.

The comic's 2012 tour lands at the Pier Theatre on Friday, November 30 at 7.30pm. He is famed for his controversial, sarcastic humour and strong language and as such is rarely seen on any of the major TV channels.

People are warned to stay away if easily offended. Born Royston Vasey in 1945, Brown got his big break after coming second to a country and western band in the 1970s television New Faces.

Nowadays, he performs to around 350,000 people a year, in his trademark flying helmet and goggles.

As well as doing his stand-up shows, Brown has also featured in several episodes of the TV show The League of Gentlemen.

His real name was used as the namesake for the fictional town in the comedy, and in his cameo appearances, Brown played the foulmouthed mayor of the town. He has released more than 23 videos and DVDs in his 30-year career, with titles including Exposed, Too Fat to Be Gay, and most recently Front Page Boobs.

Tickets are priced at £18 to £22 with an option of an extra £12.50 for a curry evening at the Key West Restaurant.
