INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed artist Ricky Also will create his next Bournemouth mural at a live artwork demonstration during Lansdowne’s first Metropole Market.

Promising a truly unique experience, Bournemouth’s new Metropole Market is bringing live art to Holdenhurst Road. Renowned local artist, Ricky Also, will be set up for a live demonstration on the road which is closed for the market on Sunday 24th September. Creating art in real- time, in front of budding artists and awe-inspired onlookers, Ricky will showcase his exceptional spray painting skills as he creates his next mural on the hoardings opposite the Old Fire Station.

This will be Ricky’s latest work brightening the streets of Bournemouth following works such as the large mural on neighbouring Lansdowne Road, which celebrates Bournemouth’s creative and sporting communities, and the attractive wall art lining St. Pauls roundabout underpass.

Both an artist and designer, Ricky Also founded Paintshop Studio, a design and graffiti art studio based on Poole Hill in Bournemouth back in 2007. A master of the print, pixel and spray-paint mediums, Ricky has been commissioned to work on many local projects, as well as work for international brands such as Adidas, Jaguar and the US National Basketball Association.

Lyn Turnbull, co-event organiser and co-director of Lansdowne’s Mexigo said:

“Combining energy, creativity and the authenticity of graffiti art with a professional approach and brand understanding of design, Rick’s work truly stands out from the crowd. A perfect fit for our Metropole Market, we are absolutely thrilled to have him taking part in our inaugural market and we look forward to seeing his art created first hand.’’

Ricky Also, said:

“I am really excited about being involved with the Metropole Market. This is a great community event and an excellent opportunity to help draw attention to the amazing creative industry and passion for art here in Bournemouth.”

Metropole Market is being supported by the Town Centre BID and will take place on the last Sunday of the month starting from 24th September. Described as a quintessentially eccentric ensemble of all things creative and delicious, it will include an array of interesting trade stalls and live entertainment on Holdenhurst Road.
