JOSEPH and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat is set to hit the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre in August with Steps star Ian Watkins playing the leading role.
Bill Kenwright’s production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s sparkling family musical continues to enjoy huge success across the country and will be in Bournemouth from August 20-24.
This colourful retelling of the biblical story about Joseph, his 11 brothers and the coat of many colours sings out to young and old alike with a score which is crammed wall to wall with hits – including Jacob and Sons, Close Every Door and Any Dream Will Do.
Playing the title role will be “H” from 90s pop band Steps fresh from the hit television series STEPS: On The Road Again and a subsequent 20-date sold-out Arena Tour.
Ian is delighted to reprise the role of Joseph which he first played in London’s West End in 2005.
After Steps, Ian has taken the musical world by storm with his performances of Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat at the New London Theatre, playing the iconic role of the childcatcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Nick Piazza in Fame and many more.
