BOURNEMOUTH audiences can look forward to having the time of their lives when a new stage spectacular featuring hits from one of the biggest dance movies of all time comes to town.
A Night Of Dirty Dancing, described as “the sexiest song and dance sensation of 2012”, is performed by a cast of West End performers.
“Dirty Dancing boasted the greatest movie soundtrack of all time.
“All the hits are superbly performed in this fast-moving, slickly-choreographed theatrical treat,” says producer Michael Taylor.
The show takes audiences on a trip back to the summer of ’63, to relive Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey’s sizzling performance in the box office hit that became a cult classic.
Songs include She’s Like The Wind, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Hey Baby, Wipeout, Do You Love Me?, Be My Baby, Hungry Eyes and the Oscar-winning theme (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life.
“The whole world loves Dirty Dancing,” says Michael.
“It's the ultimate coming-of-age romance and truly iconic entertainment.
“The film defines the 1980s.
“It was the first movie to sell one million videos, it produced a number one single and achieved album sales of 42 million worldwide.
“Prepare for A Night of Dirty Dancing – not the West End and touring musical, but the brand new sensational box office smash of the year.”
Starring Louise Kenny and Paul Doody, the show revisits the 1987 coming-of-age movie following a teenage girl’s relationship with a dance instructor she meets during a summer vacation.
- A Night Of Dirty Dancing runs at the Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre on November 29.
