Dorset style expert and former beauty queen Katie Farley gives her tips for a beautiful summer

Summer is finally here, hooray! And what a fantastic reason it is to replenish your beauty bags and make way for some of the best cosmetic creations out there on sale for us girls to buy.

From popstar collaborations teaming up with some of our favourite brands to the best ranges of lipsticks, moisturisers and beauty mists, there is guaranteed to be something for all of us this season. Shall we…

When beautifying is combined with supporting an amazing cause, staying gorgeous becomes a delight on every level. So we were very excited to hear about Jurlique’s newly-launched Deluxe Edition Rosewater Balancing Mist Intense, not only because it, quite frankly, smells like heaven in a bottle, but also because the proceeds go to the Jurlique Ideas of Beauty Fund, which supports the empowerment of women all over the world. (Marks and Spencer £41)

For one of the best skin creams in a bottle, look no further than the Kiehls Creme de Corps body moisturiser. There’s definitely a reason why women worldwide come back to this cult classic time and time again. With its heavenly scent and fantasy feeling it leaves on your silky skin you’d be bonkers not to give this solution a whirl. (Boots, £44)

The Stila 10-in-1 HD Illuminating Beauty Balm is our new make-up bag essential. Instantly highlighting our skin, this balm offers high definition and coverage, as well as sun protection and a unique formula that hydrates and nourishes. Your skin will look as though it has been lit from within. Enriched with broad-spectrum SPF30, it contains innovative micro spheres and is infused with natural, skin-protecting emollients. (Boots, £26.)

One of the most affective hair oils you’ll find this month is the Moroccan Oil Original Treatment, retailing at £30.50. You can use this super nourishing oil on all hair types, but use sparingly on light or fine hair and apply more generously on coarse, thick hair. Use it pre-blow dry to guarantee a soft, shiny style, or apply a little to ends post-blow dry for definition and a glossy finish.

It’s time to get excited girls because popstar sensation Rihanna has launched her second collaboration with the make up masters MAC. The collection is named RiRi MAC Summer. RiRi Woo – the red lipstick responsible for the aforementioned ‘Sold Out’ situation – is back alongside two other matte lipstick shades, the berry Heaux and violet Riri Boy. Joining them is the Hibiscus Kiss Powder Blush Duo and the Barbados Girl Lustre Drops, the latter of which is a creamy highlighter in a rose gold shade.

Keeping with MAC, their Best Lipstick Range always has the perfect shade that girls could wish for. In my opinion, everything works with this range – the variety of textures, colours and finishes available, along with the staying power and the shape of the bullet.
