HAVING never been a huge fan of contemporary dance, a slight feeling of trepidation crept over me as the BalletBoyz took to the stage.
But my doubts faded in seconds as the mesmerising dancing began to unfold.
Amazingly fluid and perfectly synchronised, controlled movements combined with simply stunning choreography, resulting in something truly special.
The second piece of work in particular was absolutely beautiful and met with a rapturous response from the audience, while the third and final piece was both moving and sensitive, while at the same time completely fearless and exciting.
The way BalletBoyz brings together the most amazing male dancers, and the strength that brings, allows for a completely different style of dancing than that seen with a traditional male/female partnership, and the result is breathtaking and almost gravity defying.
This is, quite simply, like nothing you’ve ever seen. Outstanding.
