A WIDE variety of music was on the menu for this concert featuring a great roll call of pop groups.

There was something for everyone as X Factor heart-throbs, The Reason 4, kicked off the action by performing some of their latest tracks, to the screams of teenage girls in the crowd.

Joining them in the line-up was electro-pop band, The Feeling, who performed some upbeat sing-a-long songs, such as Fill My Little World and Love It When You Call.

Darren Hayes, of Savage Garden, was also on the bill, which proved a blast from the past for many, as the audience cheered throughout his slot and sang songs you remember hearing on the radio, such as Truly Madly Deeply and his latest offering, Black Out The Sun.

Last year’s X Factor winner, Matt Cardle, caused a hush in the crowd as people eagerly listened to him sing tracks from his album. It was visibly clear, that in the past year, he’s become more comfortable in his singing ability.

Eighties duo, Erasure, brought the stage alive with bright coloured lighting and dancing, showing that, even now, they have as much fun as ever performing on stage live.

Another duo, on a more sombre note, called The Pierces, who stopped off on their way through to performing at The Prince’s Trust Rock Gala.

The Overtones picked up the mood and lifted the slow atmosphere to round off the show with cheery music and their classic choreographed moves.

This concert provided kind of variety that now only appears on TV, but which once often graced the stages of Bournemouth. It was much-needed family-entertainment that brought all kinds of people together to join in their shared love of music.
