Bournemouth was lucky enough to be entertained this weekend by the UK’s number one girl band, The Saturdays.

Almost at the end of their ‘Headlines’ tour, the girls performed a sell out gig to a very loud and young teenage crowd.

Wearing different coloured sequined dresses in keeping with their individual characters, the girls performed hits such as Higher, Up and Forever Is Over.

A huge screen played various colourful images and graphics of the girls throughout as well as ‘the best bits’ from their ITV documentary.

The lighting was a show in itself, flashing from every colour possible, each song had its own colour scheme and there was dramatic use of strobe too.

The girls greeted their adoring crowd by asking if we were ready to party and the response roared throughout the Windsor Hall.

The Saturdays changed into summery, UV glow outfits to perform a Rihanna medley which provoked such a great reaction and got the crowd up on their feet.

The Saturdays also brought the tempo of the show down when performing a few tracks whilst sat upon lit up stairs, which allowed them to really connect to the audience and show off their impressive vocal ability.

The show included props such as balloons for their cover of ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ and illuminated mirror frames for their debut single ‘If this is love’, providing a visually exciting performance. I was impressed with their dance routines which saw The Saturdays moving around the stage as well as up and down the stairs and along their elevated walkway.

After performing a newly written track ‘Turn Myself In’ the girls announced there will be a new album to follow later this year.

When the lights faded to black for the encore and the crowd went crazy, all you could hear was the stomping of feet and the seats were physically rocking back and forth.

The Saturdays returned once more to the stage to perform ‘Ego’ wearing slightly more rockier black dresses with metal accessories.

Frankie then told Bournemouth that The Saturdays will be going back on tour in December and that they hope to see everyone one of us there....I'll be keeping a space in my diary!
