GLASWEGIAN comic Kevin Bridges had Poole's Lighthouse in fits of laughter when his tour hit the town on Wednesday night.

Currently travelling the UK the 23-year-old funny man is fast becoming a TV regular with slots on Mock the Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats. The tour is promoting his debut DVD release (in time for Christmas) and the relentless gags, quips and punch lines that roll from his tongue are sharp and blisteringly funny.

This date was his “most Southern on the tour” something the audience was very proud of. Kevin went straight into his routine with the delights of the Dolphin shopping centre (“the place for fashionistas”) and picking on those unfortunate enough to walk in late, something which no-one in the audience would dare do again.

Risky, controversial and sometimes below the belt this was adult humour with a capital A and not for the faint-hearted. His easy style and natural ability as a comic is obvious from his pleasure and confidence of being on stage doing what he loves - it's easy to see why he was nominated for the Best Newcomer gong at last year’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards.

It's been a while since someone this funny has come out of Scotland (not forgetting Frankie Boyle) and Kevin is just the man for the job; he will find you sinking in your seat and peel you from it - just to take the Mick - but that's OK with us. Belly laughing stuff.
