IT WAS loud, brash and brilliant as Biffy Clyro performed onstage at the BIC to a crammed room.

The trio are current and everything you would want from a rock/pop band, performing with great, enthusiastic panache, as though it is only the first time they have had an audience.

Halfway through their 11-stops tour, Simon Neil, on lead vocals and guitar, and brothers, James, on bass and vocals, and Ben Johnston, on drums and vocals, showed no signs of slowing down as they presented a few of their best hits.

Promoting their latest double-album, Opposites, there was no shortage of bassy sound from the speakers, as the men played out at full volume their music, exactly as it should be, as the crowd went wild.

Various tracks throughout the night included Black Chandelier, Bubbles, The Captain and Many of Horror, which the audience were vocal in supporting.

The stage was set up to allow Simon and James to walk out into the crowd on two diagonal level platforms which formed a walkway and also offered those on the ground, the opportunity to get a good close up view of the boys.

For a band who apparently took inspiration from pop-legend, Cliff Richard, for their name, these guys are pretty rock and roll.
