THERE’S no business like show business and Theatre 2000 demonstrate how right this is with their Spring production odf Annie get your Gun. Directed by Albert Brown and produced by Paul Bower, this show is brimming over with Irving Berlin’s hits.

Set in the American Mid-West in the 1880’s, sharp-shooting Annie Oakley is invited to join the famous Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show. Her shooting ability is challenged by Frank Butler, the show’s resident marksman and eventually, there is a contest between the two.

Sarah Bayliss is brilliant as Annie and her duet with Frank (Frank Ewins) in Anything You can Do, I Can Do better is a show-stopper. The dancing in the ballroom scene is excellent, even though the Charleston was not invented in the 1880’s. Annie is at the Regent until Sunday.
