James Buckley has applied for the position of Crystal Palace manager - on behalf of his Inbetweeners alter-ego Jay Cartwright.

The actor mocked up a spoof CV for Jay and sent it in after the departure of Tony Pulis.

He tweeted the football club's chairman Steve Parish: "Here's my CPFC application @CEO4TAG something for you to look over."

The CV showed Jay was as good at exaggerating his job experience as his exploits with the ladies, as he claims to have been the manager of Manchester United and West Ham.

He also boasted that he had spent a year in a balloon with Richard Branson learning about making money and listed one of his skills as: "Can drink more than 10 pints of cider and still drive a car safely."

He said he once started a business called Jay & Rio's Pussay Patrol Car Stereos with Rio Ferdinand, explaining that the footballer eventually bought him out as he was "sleeping with all the secretaries".

Steve replied, and jokingly tweeted Rio about their spoof business.

"@James_Buckley excellent cv ,working with rio on the stereo business is key, ability to manage big players , @rioferdy5 is it true ?" he wrote.
