CALLING all punk fans! A special event will take place this autumn to celebrate some of the area’s finest punk talents. Bournemouth Punx Picnic will take place across two days at The Anvil and will see performances from Vice Squad, The Sporadics, Skoisters, Vintage Dogs and The Mistakes on Friday, September 27, while Sick on the Bus, Defcon Zero, The JackRatts, Bad Transmission, Toxic Suicide, Kllr, C-30s and Skoromokhs will take to the stage on Saturday, September 28. ROCKERS Voodoo Vegas make their return to Talking Heads tomorrow night – nine months after they successfully launched their debut album The Rise of Jimmy Silver at the venue. Last month the Bournemouth five-piece embarked on a string of festival appearances across the UK and Europe, including their first visit for Germany for The Rengsdorf Rockfestival. The outfit will hit the road once again later this month in support of American heavy metal band Fozzy and Gibraltarian rockers Breed 77 on a UK tour.

BOURNEMOUTH indie outfit Empire Affair play a free warm-up show at The Anvil tomorrow ahead of their support slot for The Hoosiers at Mr Kyps on August 23. The band will be joined by Lets Go Safari and The Kleek. The boys recently posted a new video for their song One Night in Munich on YouTube, which is taken from their Sparks in the Dark EP released last summer.

FEARNE launch their latest album Songs on Postcards at Westbourne’s Centre Stage on August 15. The album is the band’s second full-length release and was funded by fans through the Pledge Music website in just six weeks.
