THE Dorset Music Awards are taking a year off. Organisers have posted a statement on their website telling local music lovers and musicians that due to “numerous reasons” there will be no entry period or live heats in 2013.
The annual contest searches for the best band or artist in the county with bands invited to send in their demos ahead of a series of live heats before a grand final, which this year took place at the 02 Academy Bournemouth where Peace Love and Gloves were named best live act.
It is hoped the contest, running for seven years, will be back in 2014.
