HERE’S just over one week to go until the Oxjam Bournemouth Takeover Day. The event takes place on October 20 and is the biggest in the local music calendar with over 40 bands and DJs performing at five venues across the town.
Sixty Million Postcards, On The Rocks, The Beacon, Smokin’ Aces and the Pier Theatre will serve as this year’s official venues and gig goers will have unlimited access to them throughout the day via a wristband. For the first time a special showcase featuring bands under the age of 18 is set to take place in the Pier Theatre.
The Takeover event is one of many that will be taking place up and down the country in October to raise money for Oxfam. Fundraisers have been taking place across Bournemouth over the past few months in the run up to the big day.
Last year Oxjam Bournemouth smashed their £8,000 target and went on to raise over £11,300 for Oxfam, which was the highest amount for any Takeover day across the UK. Tickets are available now at wegottickets.com or on the day from any of the key venues.
