In 2009, Rua was awarded the prestigious title of BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year, and has gone on to lead his high energy trio on major stages including at WOMAD, Cambridge Folk Festival and Celtic Connections. His debut album Tyro was released in 2010.
Originally from Nairn, in the Scottish Highlands, fiddler Rua Macmillan will perform in a trio with Tia Files (from Bodega) on guitar and Adam Brown on bodhran.
Having graduated in Scottish Music from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2008, he has already toured extensively throughout Europe and the US.
