LOCAL acts will be rubbing shoulders with international superstars and fantastic home grown talent at this year’s Larmer Tree Festival until Sunday night. For the uninitiated, the four day festival takes place in the grounds of the lavish at the Larmer Tree gardens in north Dorset.

It’s a compact yet lavish festival, which has remained one of the best kept secrets on the summer calendar. Continuing its tradition of supporting local up and coming artists, the festival boasts some of the South Coast’s hottest performers.

Joining headliners Paloma Faith, Joss Stone, Jools Holland, Levellers and Roots Manuva will be some of Poole and Bournemouth’s finest. Local artists include Bournemouth 11-piece jump-jive and swing band The Regular Joes, indie folk band Fearne, trio of ukulele pluckers Mother Ukers, five-piece alternative rock band New Volunteer, New Forest-based The Wishbones, nine-piece multinational musical collective Pachango, Swanage based Saturday Sun and this year’s Dorset Music Awards winners Peace, Love and Gloves and The Spitfire Sisters.

Larmer Tree Festival founder James Shepard said: “We always work hard to achieve a great balance between well known, popular artists and up-and-coming talent on the brink of stardom – this year is no exception, we’ve got a superb line-up.”
