HIS taste in headwear might be questionable, but rapper Dappy has been topping the charts with his recent solo singles.

The N-Dubz star is set to embark on a 17-date tour this summer, which reaches the O2 Academy Bournemouth on September 29.

His latest solo single, Rockstar featured none other than poodle-haired Queen guitarist Brian May and is still riding high in the charts.

Still a member of N-Dubz, the band has become one of the biggest names on the UK’s R&B scene, with two platinum albums and a loyal following.

The trio of Dappy, X Factor judge Tulisa and Fazer formed in Camden and rapidly ascended to fame after releasing singles You Better Not Waste My Time and I Swear in the summer of 2006.

The band have since picked up numerous awards (including MOBO’s best newcomer and best album) and warranted their own TV series on Channel 4, Being N-Dubz. Though Dappy is at pains to make it clear that his solo career is not to be misconstrued as a sign of the band’s demise, though it is understood that all three members are now working on solo projects.
