Christmas jumpers, tinsel scarves and Santa hats at the ready - festive pets is back.

Last year we were inundated with pictures of owners and their dogs, cats, rabbits and even lizards in their Christmas finery.

Once again, we want to see photos of you and your pet looking festive.

Want to get involved? It's easy.

All you need to do is send us a picture of you and your pet but if you'd rather share a picture of just your pet in their Christmas outfit, that's perfectly fine.

As last year, here are our top tips for taking a selfie with your pet:

Taking a pet selfie takes time and patience, and it's important not to force your pet if they are feeling camera shy. It’s better to position yourself next to your pet rather than trying to get them to fit in the frame with you.

So, if your cat is already sitting, slide in next to them. And if your dog is lying down, get down on the floor with them.

Once you have taken your photo, send it to petselfies@bournemouthecho.co.uk.

You can also post it on instagram and tag us in the picture or the comments (we're @bournemouthecho).

Alternatively, message it to us via our Facebook page or tweet it to us @bourmemouthecho using #echofestivepets
