Friday, November 21

Tower Park will be unveiling their "extraordinary" 20ft tree at a lights switch-on at 5.30pm, with CBBC presenter Ed Petrie doing the honours. The switch-on ceremony, with carols, is free. 

Saturday, November 22

  • Adventure Wonderland's indoor play centre is transformed into a magical Winter Wonderland. There will be a Nativity Animal Cuddles Corner and Cinderella will be playing twice daily at the Happydrome Theatre.   • Santa’s Christmas Grotto opens at Upton Park with real reindeer. Daily from 11am – 5.50pm until Christmas Eve, with no need to book as tickets sold onsite.  £9.95 per child and £3 per adult.  Under 2’s are £5.  Free photo with Father Christmas and goody bag with 25 gifts and activities for children. 
  • Animal rescue group B.L.I.Z.E will be holding a festive fundraiser at Hamworthy Liberal Club. There will be a disco, face painting, stalls and a visit from Father Christmas himself. Takes place between 5pm and 8pm,  tickets are available at £3. Email blizerescue@gmail.com. 
  • Saturday, November 29

  • Kinson's Christmas on the Green event opens with Olaf from Disney film Frozen at 10am. Father Christmas arrives at 10.30am.
  • Christchurch Christmas Festival, 10am-7pm. Santa and his reindeer will process down Bargates to arrive in the High Street at 4.30pm. Santa will then take his reindeer down to the Priory to be petted and children can hand in their Christmas wish letters. Lights switch on in the high street at 6pm.
