Villages To Get Four Wheel Drive Patrols.

RURAL police officers have been given a four-wheel drive vehicle to get around the villages and countryside of East Herts.

The Vauxhall Frontera has been relocated from the traffic unit at Hertford to rural officers operating from Sawbridgeworth, Hertford and Buntingford police stations. Rural area commander Insp Roger Barrett said: We now have a suitable vehicle for covering the otherwise inaccessible areas of

East Herts. The traffic unit will get a new faster car for their duties, leaving the four-wheel drive for our use.

The car can be seen out and about in the district in villages from High Wych to Hertford Heath and Watton-at-Stone and Datchworth to Walkern and Standon.
