NICHOLAS Hunt opened Kings Park’s track and field season with an outstanding display at the John Rumbold Memorial meeting.

The locally-based Southampton AC decathlete achieved 15.38m shot, 1.99m high jump, 6.73m long jump and 15.5s 110m hurdles victories.

BAC’s Tom Peters doubled the under-17 discus (44.30m) and hammer (44.81m), while Ben Dickinson’s 46.47m won the javelin.

In the under-15 girls, Danielle Broom won both discus (34.78m) and hammer (45.39m) with strong second places from Hannah Moly-neaux (28.29m and 31.36m).

Poole AC’s Ashleigh Power posted a rankings-leading 54.68m in the under-17 women’s hammer.

On the track, BAC’s Bridget Dence clocked 4:51.5 for 1500m with Wimborne AC’s Grace Copeland just three tenths adrift on her under-15 debut.

Wimborne AC under-17 Ryan Long clocked 14.6s for third in a classy 100m hurdles.
