CHERRIES boss Eddie Howe may pursue his interest in Cork City striker Danny Morrissey once the transfer window has reopened next month.
Morrissey returned to Ireland today after training with Howe’s squad and scoring in a reserve team friendly against a star-studded QPR line-up.
The 20-year-old, who has also been linked with Cherries’ Championship rivals Huddersfield, was invited to extend his stay at Dean Court after impressing Howe and his staff.
Howe told the Daily Echo: “We have had a good look and we certainly like him.
“He is a good player and a very good finisher. He did well in the reserve game.
“He scored, worked incredibly hard and showed some good touches. He has gone back to Ireland so we will wait and see what happens.”
A pacy forward, Morrissey has already drawn comparisons with Republic of Ireland and West Brom striker Shane Long who was plucked by Reading from Cork City in 2005.
