NEW planters installed at the bottom of Yelverton Road in Bournemouth as part of the Beale Place pedestrianisation scheme will be back, the council says.
Three wooden plant boxes were put in place by Bournemouth council workers on Wednesday - but by Friday they had disappeared again.
But Bournemouth council says they are merely being 'adjusted'.
Both Albert Road and Yelverton Road have become two-way streets, with temporary barriers installed at Old Christchurch Road as part of the 12-month traffic order.
Hinton Road, where it meets Old Christchurch Road, has also been closed to traffic.
A spokesperson for the council said: “Rather than installing a new gate, it was decided that planters would be a more attractive and practical solution as they can be relocated more efficiently if necessary.
“The planters that were delivered were smaller than expected so they have been sent back to be adjusted and will be repositioned, hopefully, within the next couple of weeks.”
