A FATHER has pleaded not guilty to murdering his son.
Robert Hinz appeared before Winchester Crown Court today, Friday, July 29, charged with murdering three-month-old Julian.
The baby was found seriously injured in Hinz's flat in Carysfort Road at around 3.30pm on April 8 this year.
He was taken to Southampton General Hospital but died at 5.10am following day.
Hinz, 33, has been remanded into custody.
Prosecuting was Nigel Lickley QC and defending was Leslie Smith.
Judge Keith Cutler CBE said to the defendant: “This is just a hearing which is to prepare matters for the trial in this case.
"I now have a defence statement from you.
"In the circumstances you have pleaded not guilty to this indictment. I again formally adjourn your case to October 24.”
The trial will take place at the same court.
