Darth Vader, the Hulk, two Doctors Who, Danny Pink, Boba Fett, Kyle Reese and Hodor - Bournemouth's Comic Con will have something for everyone this weekend.

The two day convention brings together big names from television and film, plus some legendary sports stars.

Kristian Nairn, Brenock O’Connor and Finn Jones from the popular HBO programme Game of Thrones are all set to appear this weekend while the iconic ‘Iron Throne’ will be on display.

The previous stars of BBC TV show Doctor Who, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy will be at the Bournemouth event alongside their travelling companions Bonnie Langford, Sophie Aldred and Lalla Ward.

There will be a chance to meet Harry Melling (Dudley from Harry Potter) and Veronica Taylor of Pokemon and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fame.

Robert Englund from Nightmare on Elm Street and Michael Biehn from Aliens and Terminator will likewise be in attendance.

And a number of the cast from Star Wars are also heading to Bournemouth including Darth Vader actor Dave Prowse.

British boxing champion Rickey Hatton will join former footballers Paul Gascoigne, Geoff Hurst and Gordon Banks, and Frank Bruno will also appear with super bike champ Carl Fogarty and snooker all-star Ronnie O’Sullivan.

For those more interested in comics Jamal Igle author of’ Supergirl’ is appearing, alongside Game of Thrones storyboard artist Will Simpson.

Film and Comic Con features different zones for each dedicated interest; The comic zone where attendees can ‘meet the pros’ collect rare issues or get involved in workshops. There is a ‘cosplay’ area with competitions for the best dressed guests. Finally there is a gaming zone with a particular focus on retro arcade games of the last 30 years.

Fans of Japanese film and graphic novels need not feel left out; there is also a zone for Manga and another for Anime.

Bournemouth Film and Comic Con is taking place at the BIC  from Saturday 29-Sunday 30th of August running from 9am-6pm on both days.

Standard tickets for the event start at £14 with child’s day pass available from £4 with a booking fee.
