ANOTHER group of travellers has set up camp in Hamworthy.
Seven caravans arrived in The Old Camping Field north of Napier Road overnight on Sunday. That is in addition to a group of 28 caravans and motorhomes which have been on Turlin Moor recreation ground since Thursday night.
Borough of Poole is aware of this new group of travellers - but the land is privately leased and the encampment will be handled by the lessee.
Officers have visited the Turlin Moor encampment to serve direction orders this afternoon in a bid to secure an eviction “at the earliest opportunity.”
The council is hoping for a court date this week. The state of the site is deteriorating, according to officers, who have provided a skip, but have not provided toilet facilities.
