BOMB disposal teams were called to an address in Poole this afternoon after a grenade was found in a garden shed.
It was the second time today that officers dealt with unexploded munitions after two mortar shells were found at a property in Springbourne.
The grenade was blown up in a controlled explosion at Whitecliff Recreation Ground.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "A rusty grenade was found in a garden shed at a Poole property.
"It was taken to Whitecliff Rec, and officers advised beach front businesses at Sandbanks that a detonation would take place.
"A controlled explosion happened at around 3pm."
