One news story from overnight: A woman was rescued via a first floor window after fire wrecked her home in Kinson.
And in case you're wondering, the weather forecast has 0 per cent chance of rain!
Yesterday afternoon's downpour, which affected some areas much more dramatically than others, has decidedly failed to cool things down. Temperatures are expected to reach 26.7C this morning and 27.3C this afternoon.
Among the events on this morning's diary: Oakdale Library will see the opening of a World War I memorial garden at 10am. Community Service Volunteers came up with the idea as a way of marking the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War One.
