A TWO-minute film starring an Upton schoolboy is the runner-up in a national film competition.
Max Richards, a Year 6 pupil at Yarrells School, featured in The Colouring Box, made by his neighbour John Powell, 18, and entered in the Radio 5 Live film competition.
The Well Done U contest was judged by film critics Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo, who watched hundreds of short films and chose this one as the runner-up.
The Colouring Box depicts a boy who goes exploring in an attic and discovers colour in a black and white world, showing his journey and his emotions.
The soundtrack is by Adam Tuffrey.
“This is my first proper short film so I know it’s not perfect. Lots to learn,” said John.
